So, yes, we have escaped to Orlando again, for a month!  Feels very decadent!  Tonight we are lounging in our villa in Lake Berkley having had a loooooong day pootling around Kissimmee buying 'stuff' and watching the rain pouring down, as it does in Florida.
Last night we stayed in the Comfort Inn hotel on 192 - just next door to an IHop and across the road from the famed RV business on the corner of Poinciana Boulevard - a substantial landmark from our last visit!

Saw a brilliant sign outside a pawn shop on 192... 'now taking guns....'

We are literally 'round the corner' from Walmart and Medieval Times - that would be a great selling point for some, I suspect!!

Last night I was transfixed by the blue moon - a huge full moon peeking out from behind the thunder clouds as we drove from the airport. Tonight I was transfixed by the birds (herons? vultures? pelicans? pterodactyl's? I don't know what they are yet!) roosting in the trees across the lake from us. What a sight!  They were drying their wings in the top of the trees and then started filling up the lower trees as the dusk arrived.  I was swimming in the pool at the time and could hear them lining themselves up.  How do they decide who can be in the tree and who has to go elsewhere - it seems very complex!

Sunday...Today the sun has put in a limited appearance!  A good way to acclimatise without too much searing sun too quickly perhaps!  We're just watching the weather for tomorrow and Florida is going to be subject to a deluge, it seems!  Maybe I could learn to play pool tomorrow!

Here are some pictures of the view from the back of the villa.  The lake comes almost up to our swimming pool, particularly with all this rain!  There are baby alligators in the lake - we are told that they come and lie on the lake shore in the sunshine during the day!

These would all look so much more appealing if the sun was shining, but if you could feel the warmth, you'd know that the lack of actual sunshine is not the worst thing that can happen in a day.

I'll keep taking pictures of the tree in the middle of the lake (bottom 2 pictures).  This is where the pterodactyls come to roost at night so the trees gradually fill up with a range of birds.  Not sure what the booking system is but they seem to know for definite that they have a place booked!

I enjoyed driving our huge vehicle around today - a Chevvy Traverse.  I took John for a wander to Publix down in Pleasant, Hills, past the Home Depot off Poinciana Blvd.  I'm finding the 'handbrake' the trickiest bit as it's a foot brake that requires a bendy knee to reach up to push it down to the floor.  (Tonight I discovered it's quite hard to find in the dark!)

We have finally sorted the TV out, so all is not lost!
