Monday

Today we are reconciled to rain and the fact that it's going to happen for most of the day!  We are sitting outside for now before it turns to thunderstorms this afternoon and enjoying the warmth and the local wildlife!  The guy from our property management company who is called Knud (he's Belgian, I didn't know they had such good names in Belgium!) is currently fixing a bit of our porch screen and telling us about the alligators... apparently in June one popped out of the lake to bag a duck for lunch right in front of a chap renting a property along the road. 

I've finally mastered the Melita coffee machine, I think!  it was a wily beast that took some taming but I now have a cup of something that tastes a bit like coffee and is certainly better than the tea.  Is it the soft Florida water that makes bad tea?  It makes your hair lovely, but is pretty rubbish with tea bags in my opinion.

I've taken some pictures of the villa to so you can see our palatial surroundings!  We are thoroughly enjoying rattling around in so much space, but we keep losing each other, so have to tell each other where we are going! 

This morning I have been mainly mastering the coffee maker and learning how to play pool (from the written words rather than in practice)  I shall be trying out my new skills later this afternoon when the thunderstorms start.
