Today we all piled in the car (our car!) to go to Kennedy Space Centre - we had our photo taken - very fetching, dontcha think?
I don't know how to make them bigger, but I'm sure you can on the screen!
Good news for Becky - we did actually see alligator noses and eyes sticking out of the water as we did the bus tour over to the Saturn V exhibition! yess! I will have an alligator picture for you soon, I promise.
I find it very emotional watching rockets taking off, (and shuttles landing, especially), with all that passion and commitment to doing something new and considered completely impossible, not so long ago. Many people have died in the process, not just the ones we can remember first from the Challenger Shuttle.
This is the memorial to those who have died - it's beautiful because when you look at it you are looking at the heavens reflected in the monument - that's what all the passion is about - getting up there and being in space.
Kennedy had a lot to answer for, but what a vision... the ultimate bad day at work when you hear your boss say... 'and we're going to land a man on the moon and bring him back again safely' when all you've managed to date is a 15 min flight over to the Bahamas via the edge of space.
Now they're talking about Virgin Galactic as if it will definitely happen, they're talking about sending a team to Mars.... it's amazing.
In other news... Becky is now flying solo in her mini chevvy, we are making little progress with our ball skills and John is slightly less deaf but is talking like whispering Bob Harris!
The birds are roosting, the drinks are being poured....
